CrossFit

Group CrossFit classes are perfect for those looking for a change of pace from the standard gym experience!

Our small group CrossFit classes focus on keeping your workouts short and manageable, typically lasting under 1 hour. During this time, you will be led through a dynamic warm-up and will be hit with constantly varied, functional movements that will be different every day. Some days, classes may focus on strength elements like the back squat or deadlift. Other days may focus on skill development such as gymnastic movements like pull-ups.

Every day will challenge you in unique ways you never thought possible. But you will be constantly under the care and guidance of a coach who has as much passion for fitness as you will come to have.

CrossFit Lite

A CrossFit Lite workout has the same principles as a regular CrossFit class (Constantly varied, high intensity, functional movement) except we will focus mainly on Metabolic Conditioning (MetCon) with scaled down weights or body weight movements.

Many people want to experience the fun of CrossFit but may have reservations about using the barbells or complex gymnastic movements. This is understandable since the idea of lifting very heavy weight or doing handstand walks can be unsettling.

CrossFit Lite is designed to maximise your fitness by using a variety of different body weight movements and objects like kettlebells to obtain significant strength and cardiovascular health. Each class is different and can include activities like running, body weight movements, or using kettlebells, wall balls, or boxes. While we call this CrossFit Lite, don’t be confused that this is easier than a typical CrossFit workout!

 

One on one coaching

 

While our group classes are designed to meet the majority of our community’s needs, achieving specific individual goals or starting your fitness journey on a more personal path may require an individual approach.

In order to maximise your training, recovery, and time, the Private Coaching, and Individual Programming options may be the perfect option to consider for your training.

Private coaching is perfect for the athlete who not only wants customisation but would like the reassurance of a coach’s presence. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, increase strength or technique, prepare for an event, or just prefer a more personal setting, Private Coaching leads to faster results.

Private Coaching will include:

  • Private personal training sessions 1-4 days per week
  • A well-defined program tailored to meet your needs and ability
  • Body composition analysis and nutritional coaching if desired
  • Telephone, email, and Facebook coaching support as arranged with your coach

Teens

The CrossFit Manaia teens program provides the knowledge, ability, and skills which will allow our youth to grow and mature instilled with the virtues of an active and healthy lifestyle, as well as playing an active role in injury prevention for children participating in specialty sports.

Our program combines gymnastics, body weight calisthenics and weightlifting elements to develop capacity across ten general physical skills: cardio-respiratory endurance, power, strength, stamina, speed, agility, flexibility, balance, accuracy, and co-ordination.

Teens have a greater opportunity (relative to adults) to maximise their physical skills when exposed to this stimulus during years of peak development. The elements are combined to keep children engaged and entertained, while teaching them proper movement technique and creating a broad athletic foundation. Nutrition is also discussed as the basis of athletic performance and health within a supportive community. At CrossFit Manaia we pair fitness and fun to create a lifelong love of health and fitness.
